they do smellSo the other reviewers were right- these do have an unpleasant odor. I would think it could be handled with a deep soak so that wasn’t the deal breaker. The material just looked so cheap. Very shiny. At this price point you can find much classier options. Sent it back.

Love them! Nice fit.When I opened the package to odor about knocked me over. I was afraid they had been worn and returned. It may have been the faux leather. Not sure. I washed them immediately, the odor is gone. Otherwise the pants are very nice and flattering. They hold your muffin top in. Great fit! I would have given them a 5 star if it wasn’t for the odor.
