Scott Schuman founded his street style blog The Sartorialist, in September 2005. Scott was born in Indiana in 1968. He went on to study at fashion merchandising at Indiana University. He also honed his fashion sense while working at the popular 1980s chain Chess King.
Scott says that his blog started after he began "fooling around with the idea" of mixing both pictures of guys who were fashionable yet of the moment. He later began including photographs of fashionable women. He cites New York, Milan and Paris as his favourite cities to photograph in.
Scott has received numerous accolades for his blog, including being named as one of Time Magazine's Design 100. His also has a slew of editorial clients such as a monthly column for GQ, Style UK, Interview, Vogue Paris and British Elle. He has also worked with various companies through advertising. These include Burberry, DKNY Jeans and Saba, whom he shot their 2009 denim line for.
It has been confirmed that Scott Schuman will appear in a reality based television show with girlfriend and fellow blogger Garance Dore. Garance has said that the show will be based on how they perceive the world. Of course the show will also be fashion-oriented. Garance went on to say that her dream project is to complete a movie.
Prior to working full time as a photographer, Scott worked as the director of men's fashion at Bergdorf Goodman. He also worked at Valentino and Onward Kashiyama, before opening his own showroom to showcase emerging designers, like Peter Som and James Coviello.
