About

Dea Rosa, the premier line of exotic skin handbags, unveils its Spring/Summer 2012 collection, aptly titled “Wanderlista.” Inspired by her travels and artfully designed by Dea Rosa’s Creative Director Andria Mitsakos, each piece in this collection is chimed with names of winds and ready to be whisked away, taking its carrier on a journey into the Aegean.

A Wanderlista is led by the winds, her travels dictated by the gods. As the summer sun whiles away the magical hours playing with the winds that blow in a thousand forms, Mitsakos is able to capture the essence of the Aegean. In Greece everything is borne by the winds. The winds carry dreams, the winds refresh, the winds create and the winds bear our future. Their mythical names enchanting people, places, ships, sirens, Zefyros, Apilotis, Evros, Livas, Maistros.

The Cycladic islands provide her backdrop. Her sensuous aura wraps around them. White clouds entwine with the sun’s rays, which dance in silver on the sea. A ménage of coral, periwinkle and seashell meander into the dusty grey twilight. Here, sumptuous python, lizard and ostrich are swept into a breezy color palette that defines the freshness of spring and the ultimate summer holiday.

In this collection, Mitsakos has curated her key pieces for travel including a carry-on bag, an oversized envelope, a flat, easy-to-pack beach bag, a simple, zip-top clutch and a petite evening bag. Pieces are featured in ostrich, python, lizard and some in a combination of cotton canvas color-blocked with exotic skin. She also has introduced signature travel essentials such as a python sleep mask, “perfect for long-haul flights,” says Mitsakos.
