About

Exotic skins merge with sleek lines for a contemporary edge. A nod to the allure and magnetism of the Italian screen sirens—Sophia Loren, Gina Lollobrigida and Claudia Cardinale, a means of evoking sensuality and glamour.

Its hallmark: a polished blend of mid-century sophistication and femininity with the prevailing ease of today’s modern woman. Elegant and stylish, she’s in perpetual motion. The debut collection of Dea Rosa for Spring Summer 2011 offers a carefully edited group of bags created for the soul and vitality of this woman, for whom freedom is the very essence of her existence.

The spirit of simplicity is inherent in the harmonious lines of each of the pieces, which rely on the suppleness of python, lizard and caiman crocodile, skillfully coaxed into sensual folds. Simple, yes, but also unexpected: there are hues of sand and sky, others pop in marine blue or shades of flush rose, while hidden pockets, multi-openings and side-clasps surprise with a practical sensibility. Expertly handcrafted by Milanese artisans, some shapes recall a vintage past, yet are definitively enhanced by today’s ingenuity.

Their minimalist architecture tames the fiercely provocative nature of the materials, rendering them both luxurious and genuinely, effortlessly chic.
