Abercrombie and Fitch is a well known brand based from New York. It is linked with Hollister which is based in California. In 1892, David Abercrombie opened his first store, Abercrombie and Co, in New York, selling elite excursion goods. Ezra Fitch joined the company in 1900 and in 1904 it become Abercrombie and Fitch. 
The first catalogue was published in 1909 and a year later Abercrombie and Fitch introduced sporting wear for women. By 2000, the company has evolved into a lifestyle brand that specializes in fashion. The brand has four different labels: Abercrombie and Fitch, which is preppie campus clothing; Abercrombie, a younger range for school children; Hollister Co, for laid back teenagers; and Ruehl No 925 which offers more sophisticated items for urban dwellers.
